Easy WP SEO is a recent WordPress SEO plugin similar to SEOPressor. It analyzes the content of posts and pages in the same way to help users with on-page SEO optimization. I’ve been using it for a few months now, and am really very impressed with it. Hopefully my Easy WP SEO review will give you a clear idea of what this plugin does and how it can help you optimize your sites.
Easy WP SEO Features
This plugin has a lot of features. Like similar plugins, it looks at keyword density, title and meta tags, checks for keywords in permalinks and heading tags, does automatic keyword decoration (making them appear in bold, italics and underline font), and so on. If you’re familiar with ClickBump SEO! or SEOPressor, you’ve seen the same functionality in those plugins.
I made these screenshots as I was writing this post, so the relatively low SEO score and high keyword density reflect that. I still have some optimizing to do.
To me, what sets Easy WP SEO apart from the others are some very nice features exclusive to this plugin.
Easy WP SEO Scores The Whole Page
This is a powerful advantage over similar plugins. Instead of only looking at the content specific to posts and pages, it also factors in other elements on the HTML page, making its analysis more complete.
Analysis of Multiple Keywords
Easy WP SEO is the only on-page SEO plugin that allows for optimizing content for multiple keywords. When a secondary keyword is selected, the SEO score and keyword density are immediately updated to show values for that keyword.
It’s generally not good SEO practice to try and rank a post for a bunch of different keywords. But, used wisely, this feature can improve search engine rankings by choosing one or two additional keywords that are strongly related to the main one.
Secondary keywords can be added either manually by typing them in, or they can be dragged from the list of LSI keyword suggestions derived from your main keyword. Using LSI terms as secondary keywords will ensure you’re not trying to rank a post for unrelated words and phrases.
LSI Keywords
Latent semantic indexing (LSI) is how the search engines determine relations of meaning between words. Having LSI terms related to your main keyword helps the bots figure out the theme of your content, so they will be more likely to highly rank it for your keyword.
Easy WP SEO isn’t the only WordPress SEO plugin that supports LSI, but it has two things the others don’t.
First, it makes LSI suggestions in 25 languages. Other plugins only suggest LSI words in English. If you’re targeting visitors who don’t speak English, this is a great feature.
The other difference is you can drag and drop LSI terms right into your content while you’re editing your posts. It’s just a nice added convenience.
Readability Analysis
This is a neat feature that, among most SEO plugins, only Easy WP SEO has. I have read that Scribe SEO looks at readability as well, but I’m not familiar with that product, thought I’ve heard it uses a single readability formula.
With Easy WP SEO, content is analyzed with six different readability algorithms to give you an idea of how well your writing matches your target audience. If you know your visitors will mostly be teenagers, for instance, you’d want to write your content at a level they will understand.
As shown in the image to the right, the content of this post is pretty simple by all but one of the tests, so I won’t try to adjust it. But if I needed to, the easiest way to do that is to reduce the number of long sentences and complex words.
But I think anyone who builds web sites and is visiting this site is likely more than intelligent enough to understand this post.
In case you’re wondering, the readability scores have no impact on the total SEO scores of your content. This feature just provides a convenient way for content writers to see how easy it will be for the average person to fully comprehend their content.
Video Help Files
Easy WP SEO has links to video help files embedded in its interface next to the WordPress post edit box. Every feature has a help video you can view if you’re unsure of what a feature does or how it should be used.
A PDF manual is included with the plugin, but this is a very slick feature that makes it convenient to get the information you’re looking for.
Besides a dedicated Help panel, there are question mark icons next to every SEO factor on the Analysis panel. Clicking the icon next to a particular feature will bring up a video explaining what it is and how to use it.
It’s a nice way to get “in-context” help with whatever you’re working on at the time.
Drag and Drop Convenience
Another cool feature exclusive to Easy WP SEO is it provides a way to drag and drop images from the WordPress Media Library into your content as you’re editing it. Some of the images used in this post are show in the graphic.
If alternate text hasn’t been specified for images through the Media interface, Easy WP SEO will automatically insert your primary keyword into the “alt” tag in the image HTML.
For building internal links, you can also drag and drop links to your other posts and pages into the post you’re currently editing.
Configurable SEO Settings
This is a feature I really appreciate. Many of the SEO factors can be configured by the user. You’re not limited to the plugin author’s notions of what the ideal settings should be.

By default, the keyword density range is 4.0 – 5.5% which I think is too high. So I’ve changed it to 2.0 – 4.0%.
How keyword density is determined is also configurable. The first formula treats keywords as single words. With the second one, the number of words in keyword phrases is factored in, which gives a more accurate density when long-tail keyword phrases are used.
Easy WP SEO Review – Conclusion
In my opinion, Easy WP SEO is a fantastic plugin. I’ve been very happy with it since I bought it in May. It’s easy to use, and more accurate than similar plugins available. It also has a lot more features and capabilities.
Oh, the technical support is fantastic. On the occasions when I’ve submitted support tickets, I got responses back very quickly. In fact, I always got help on the same day, something that doesn’t happen often enough with software support.
If you’re looking for an on-page SEO plugin, I highly recommend Easy WP SEO. It has a 60-day guarantee, so you can get a refund if you’re not satisfied with it for any reason.

Is this plugin supposed to operate in conjunction with – for example – All In One SEO -
or is supposed to operate strictly on its own?
It works well with plugins like All in One SEO, Platinum SEO and Headspace. You wouldn’t want to use it with other on-page SEO plugins, though, like SEOPressor, ClickBump SEO, SEO Beast, etc.
